Vice Mayor Kang Zhenlin stressed: we need to overcome difficulties, and make up for shortcomings, thus reaching the expectations of building an exhibition of higher profile, better quality, and more international awareness.

On the afternoon of August 23rd, the Changsha Municipal People's Government held a work scheduling meeting of 2023 CICEE, which focused on the preparations for the exhibition. The meeting was presided over by Li Shun, vice chairman of the Changsha Committee of the CPPCC and director of the Changsha Convention and Exhibition Management Office. Kang Zhenlin, vice mayor of the Changsha Municipal People's Government, attended and made important instructions. The meeting was also attended by people concerned from institutions and companies such as the Hunan Administrative Committee of Xiangjiang New Area, Administrative Committee of Changsha National Economic and Technical Development Zone, Changsha Municipal Finance Bureau, Changsha Convention and Exhibition Management Office, Changsha Municipal Bureau of Commerce, Changsha Municipal Administration of Culture and Tourism, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Changsha Branch, and Hunan Power City International Exhibition Co., Ltd.

At the meeting, the organizing committee gave a comprehensive report on the preparations for the 2023 CICEE, such as exhibition plan, exhibitors and business invitation, publicity and promotion, event planning, exhibition operation, etc. Numerous optimization suggestions were put forward with the joint effort of the attendees from different departments.

Vice Mayor Kang Zhenlin stressed at the meeting: CICEE is an essential embodiment of “promoting the high-quality development of Changsha through concentrating on the strategic positioning and mission of implementing the three highlands and four new missions strategy and provincial-capital-city-oriented development strategy”, which are the focus of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial Government, the Municipal Party Committee and the Municipal Government. All members of the organizing committee must strengthen their awareness of political stance, attach great importance to CICEE, pay close attention to its implementation, and make a joint effort. With the fighting spirit and drive of "taking the beginning as the decisive battle, and taking the beginning as the last sprint", all members should strive to realize the aim of making the exhibition "the first in Asia and the third in the world", and push forward all the preparatory work with the requirement of highest standards, highest specifications and highest levels.

The Grandeur of Previous CICEE

Firstly, we need to live up to the high expectations of the provincial and municipal party committees and governments. It is necessary to strengthen the awareness of political stance and make the best use of the opportunity brought by the exhibition, so as to show the fruitful development of Changsha's construction machinery industry and business card of "Capital of Construction Machinery". All parties concerned shall be more proactive, more pragmatic and innovative, more meticulous and rigorous in their work with the best working condition, the highest working standard, and the most practical working method, thus making the CICEE an international exhibition that shows Changsha's strength, reflects Changsha's standard, makes Changsha's voice heard, and shows Changsha's charm。

Secondly, the quality of the exhibition is expected to be higher than that of the previous ones. Based on the success of the 2019 and 2022 CICEE, we shall make good use of our strengths and make up for our shortcomings to reach a higher level. We need to integrate all resources available to invite more world-class enterprises to participate in the exhibition and invite more international politicians, representatives of international business associations, and industrial leaders to Changsha, so as to make the exhibition more international and high-end.

Thirdly, the result of the exhibition is expected to be better than that of the previous ones. All the major organizers and executors should shoulder their responsibilities by taking out their lists of responsibilities and measures, coordinating with each other, working with clear schedules, making proper adjustments regularly, and implementing the plan step by step. They should also make great efforts to do a good job in improving the scale, quality, and content of the exhibition, and implementing various activities.

Vice Chairman Li Shun made overall arrangements for the priorities in the next phase. She pointed out that, for the preparation work of this exhibition, the time is limited, the task is heavy, and the pressure is great. At this stage, it is necessary to deepen awareness, make innovations in organizing the exhibition, raise standards, and ensure a better result. All relevant departments at all levels should take the initiative to help, organize and deploy with dedication, and make effort to provide comprehensive support in aspects, such as exhibitor and business invitation, forums organization, publicity and promotion, exhibition services, and the creation of favorable conditions, etc. They must implement all works and responsibilities with efforts of sprinting, so as to ensure the safe and successful result of the exhibition and bring a high-standard and high-quality construction machinery industry grand event to the visitors.
